Micronics AV5500 Area Velocity Flow Meter

The AV5500 is an area velocity flow meter designed for open channels and partially filled pipes. It uses a submerged ultrasonic sensor to measure both liquid level and velocity which allows the meter to calculate flow volume without the need for a flume or weir. The sensor mounts at the bottom of the channel or pipe and provides continuous readings even in systems with varying depth or irregular geometry. The design supports round, rectangular, trapezoid, egg shaped and custom channel profiles making the meter suitable for diverse field conditions.

The meter includes a watertight NEMA4X IP66 enclosure with a large backlit display for viewing flow rate, totals, relay status and diagnostics. It features three isolated 4 to 20 milliamp outputs, two control relays and a built in 26 million point data logger with USB transfer to any flash drive. The submerged sensor is fully sealed with no ports or moving parts and resists fouling, corrosion and abrasion. An alternate configuration uses a separate non contacting ultrasonic level sensor for applications with heavy aeration or high solids loading. The AV5500 is used for wastewater stormwater industrial effluent natural streams and irrigation flow monitoring where non intrusive area velocity measurement is required.

Area velocity flow meter that measures level and velocity with a submerged ultrasonic sensor for open channel and partially filled pipe monitoring.
The AV5500 uses a submerged ultrasonic sensor to measure level and velocity in open channels and partially full pipes, providing reliable flow measurement without a flume or weir.
