Micronics UX5000 Hazardous Area Flow Meter

The UX5000 is an explosion proof clamp on ultrasonic flow meter designed for hazardous and heavy duty industrial environments. It uses a cross correlation transit time method to measure flow from outside the pipe so there is no need to cut or open the line. The system is approved for use in Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas and carries Class 1 Division 1 hazardous location approvals. The architecture separates the flow sensors and Remote Measurement Unit from the display and control interface so the measurement hardware can stay at the pipe while the operator works at a safer or more convenient location.

The meter is supplied for pipe sizes from 2 to 12 inches outer diameter and is suitable for acoustically conductive liquids with low solids content in a wide range of pipe materials including steel stainless steel copper and plastic. Sensors and the Remote Measurement Unit are housed in marine grade aluminum enclosures with IP66 environmental protection so they can be installed in offshore and marine locations. The display unit provides local indication and configuration and supports two analogue outputs three opto isolated relays and Modbus RTU on an RS485 link. When used with the Rotohub module the UX5000 also supports remote data access for integration into wider monitoring and control systems.
